High-speed Scanner Support — makes scanning more time-efficient
WYNN now has support for high-speed scanners, such as the Canon DR- 5020 and DR-5080. This enables WYNN to take advantage of the scanner’s speed. When using one of these scanners with WYNN, a large document can be quickly scanned and placed in memory using the scanner's "scan ahead" feature. The document is then processed in a batch, saving time.

New FineReader OCR Engine
WYNN 3.5 uses version 6.0, of the popular FineReader optical character recognition (OCR) software. FineReader provides excellent text recognition for scanned documents, with significant improvements in word accuracy and format retention.

Custom Settings for individual needs and preferences
We have added several custom setting to WYNN 3.5, including toolbars for Studying, Spelling, Reading for Fluency, Public Access, and Spanish reading.

Assign your own reading order with Dynamic Zoning
Dynamic Zoning is used to change the reading order of a document. Using Dynamic Zoning, the reading order of the document can be user-specified and sections can be tagged to be ignored by the OCR engine. This can be especially helpful with documents that have unusual or complex formatting.

Document Clean-up — a fast and easy method for correcting scanning errors
Document Clean-up provides an incredibly easy method for correcting OCR errors that may occur in the document during scanning. This ensures that the document will be spoken correctly when reading from Exact View or Text View.

WYNN 3.5 offers more flexibility when working with Multiple Documents
WYNN now allows you to have more than two documents open at the same time. By default you can have 3 documents open simultaneously. You can set a limit of 1-7 for the maximum number of open documents, or opt for an unlimited number of documents to be open at one time.

TESTTALKER

TestTalker provides a computerized version of a test, worksheet, or other form that can talk.

Freedom Scientific's Learning Systems Group is pleased to introduce a partnership between Don Johnston's Start-to-Finish® Books and LSG's TestTalker. The extremely popular Start-to-Finish Books provide a controlled reading experience with a bi-modal auditory and visual feedback.

TestTalker is used for both test preparation and standardized tests. To assist our users with test creation, Freedom Scientific's Learning Systems Group is pleased to introduce a partnership between Don Johnston's Start-to-Finish® Books and LSG's TestTalker. Users of the popular Start-to-Finish Books will be able to download quizzes in TestTalker format, free of charge.

TestTalker is a software solution to help individuals be more successful with test taking, worksheet completion, and with study materials. It can also help people complete forms electronically. TestTalker provides a computerized version of a test, worksheet, or other form that can talk. TestTalker uses the same bimodal approach-simultaneously highlighting words as they are spoken aloud-that is used in WYNN, the Learning Systems Group's other product.

With mandated requirements for standardized testing and accountability, this is an option that teachers and students will find welcome and useful.

TestTalker maintains the integrity of the written test by not modifying the test. TestTalker is an accommodation tool that provides a bimodal presentation of the unmodified written information.

TestTalker has two modules: the Teacher Edition, a test-creating module designed for teachers; and the Student Edition, a test-taking module. The Teacher Edition scans pre-printed tests and allows teachers to configure them so students can complete the tests electronically. The Student Edition reads the test aloud and allows students to answer the questions. Teachers and students can print the blank or completed tests if they wish.

TestTalker supports True/False, Multiple Choice, Fill-in, and Extended Answer tests. The product includes a PDF (Adobe® Portable Document Format) converter so teachers can simply open a PDF file in TestTalker without needing to scan.

TestTalker is valuable in helping students become better prepared for test-taking. TestTalker enables students to become familiar with specific testing formats. It provides a bimodal approach, which enhances learning for many students and helps empower students to feel successful. TestTalker also better prepares students for taking tests on the computer. Considering the increasing popularity of this method of test delivery, it serves as a tool for individuals to practice completing tests by computer.
