Dragon/PC and Telephone answering remotely

Update on Headsets and Vista

Here are the answers to several of the questions about
headset compatibility and usage that we have encountered
recently.

Can a single headset (hard wired or wireless) be used for
Dragon/PC and REMOTELY answering a regular telephone hands
free? NO.

Can a single headset be used for Dragon/PC and regular
telephone? Yes, but not hands free (you have to manually
press the switch and lift the phone receiver to take calls
and then manually hang up). It does not allow remote phone
answering.

Wireless version
(best for those in wheel chairs or places where getting
tangled in wires is an issue):
We can set up a Plantronics CS50 or CS55 with a GN Netcom
switch that allows you to change from PC to Telephone and
back. However, while this allows the use of a single
wireless headset it does not allow the user to answer the
phone while away from their desk.

Order:

Wired version

As above we can set up a single wired headset but they cant
answer while away from their desk.

Vista and TalkPro-USB100 incompatibilities.

I have spoken to VXI about Vista not recognizing the
TalkPro-USB 100 headset and they informed me Vista picks
and chooses which specific headsets of that model it will
or will not recognize. Microsoft is working on a
resolution but VXI is sending use a white paper covering
things to try.
